Intel's next-generation Battlemage "Xe2-HPG" GPUs have potentially been spotted within the SiSoftware Sandra database.

These Could Be The First Listings of Intel's Next-Gen Battlemage "Xe2-HPG" Discrete GPUs

Intel's Battlemage architecture is expected to make its debut later this year in Xe2-HPG and Xe2-LPG variants. The Xe2-HPG variants will be aiming at the discrete graphics segment while the Xe2-LPG variants will be utilized as integrated graphics for upcoming CPUs such as Lunar Lake. Now, it looks like the first variants have been spotted within the Sandra database along with their possible specifications.

Spotted by @miktdt, the purported Intel Battlemage Xe2-HPG GPUs come with 20 and 24 Xe-cores for a total of 160 and 192 Vector Engines or 2560/3072 ALUs, respectively. Both GPUs list a total of 8 MB of L2 cache which is half the amount featured on the Alchemist Xe-LPG 32 Xe-Core config and also feature 12 GB of memory (possibly a 192-bit bus interface). The clock speeds are also listed at 1.8 GHz which is very early and if these are indeed Battlemage chips, we can expect clock speeds beyond 2 GHz.

In terms of performance within the GPGPU benchmark tests, the alleged Intel Battlemage Xe2-LPG GPUs scored 7231 Mpix/s and 6030.66 Mpix/s, respectively. For comparison, the Arc A770 scores an average of 11,058 Mpix/s while the Arc A750 scores 9927 Mpix/s. Considering that these are very early numbers, the final performance could be improved by a lot. The A770 has 32 Xe-cores while the A750 has 28 Xe-cores.

The performance per core for Alchemist currently sits an average of 16% faster than the alleged Battlemage GPU which isn't a big deal since driver-level optimizations and final silicon can give a huge boost when the retail products come out.

Earlier this year, Intel confirmed that Battlemage Xe2 GPUs were already in the labs and a large portion of the software team is already working on it while the hardware team is now fully focused on the Celestial GPU. Early benchmarks of Lunar Lake iGPUs have shown almost a 2x faster performance versus the upgraded Alchemist+ chips. Expect more information on Battlemage GPUs in the coming months.
