The Jetson Orin NX 8 GB was a high-end mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched in March 2023. Built on the 8 nm process, and based on the GA10B graphics processor, in its TE980M-A1 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12 Ultimate. This ensures that all modern games will run on Jetson Orin NX 8 GB. Additionally, the DirectX 12 Ultimate capability guarantees support for hardware-raytracing, variable-rate shading and more, in upcoming video games. Unlike the fully unlocked Jetson AGX Orin 64 GB, which uses the same GPU but has all 2048 shaders enabled, NVIDIA has disabled some shading units on the Jetson Orin NX 8 GB to reach the product's target shader count. It features 1024 shading units, 32 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. Also included are 32 tensor cores which help improve the speed of machine learning applications. NVIDIA has paired 8 GB LPDDR5 memory with the Jetson Orin NX 8 GB, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 765 MHz, memory is running at 1600 MHz. Its power draw is rated at 20 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. Jetson Orin NX 8 GB is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface. The card measures 70 mm in length, 45 mm in width, and features a igp cooling solution. Its price at launch was 399 US Dollars.
