      Critics Consensus

Death Note benefits from director Adam Wingard's distinctive eye and a talented cast, but they aren't enough to overcome a fatally overcrowded canvas.

Phin T Only refreshing thing,is that clearly,L's actor seems to have read the manga or watched the anime and sometimes makes little gestures in perfect L Style. too bad that the writing of everyone and the whole plot, him included shadows this only good detail. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review frank F abslotute trash light is an idiot loser mia is a stupid psycho all of the characters are just bad Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Makaelyn C This movie sucked. I truly don't think the director took the time to watch the anime or learning the characters to really understand death note. The only best part of the movie was William Defoe as ryuk. I would never recommend anyone to watch this movie ever. No hate to the cast but this movie was poorly made. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review anders k Very interesting movie concept and nicely executed 10/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review mpreg DISGUSTING. DIS GRACE TO THE DEATH NOTE FRANCHISE. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Some Guy F I don't think something can be this bad without it being intentional. I'm pretty sure it's one big joke because it's so ridiculously bad at every turn, no one can be taking this seriously. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
