GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB memory gets a $50-70 discount

NVIDIA responds to AMD by lowering prices.

Officially, AMD Radeon RX 7800XT and RX 7700XT are designed to compete with NVIDIA RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB graphics cards, respectively. The RTX 4060 Ti 16GB launched in July this year at $499, was widely criticized for being overpriced. The RX 7700XT, which is expected to launch at $449 next week, is set to offer better performance. It could make the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB a hard sell.

NVIDIA’s board partners have reacted to the upcoming threat from AMD by lowering the prices of their RTX 4060 Ti 16GB models to $449 or even lower, undercutting the price of the RX 7700XT. Several US retailers have already updated their prices as follows:

As we can see, PNY even lowered the price to $431, which is $69 cheaper than at launch. However, this offer appears to be an outlier with two companies (MSI and ASUS) having implemented $449 pricing for their lowest tiers (Ventus/Dual series).

AMD has announced that their Navi 32 cards have a competitive price and they are waiting for the market reaction. The first sign of this is the price drop of the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB models, which now match the RX 7700XT. However, there is no news about the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB or RTX 4070 models getting similar discounts. As the Holiday season approaches, the only way for the companies to compete is by adjusting their prices.
