NVIDIA RTX 3060 with 6GB memory has a rumored price

According to Benchlife, NVIDIA’s new budget GPU will cost less than $190.

The RTX 3050 graphics card is said to be getting a cheaper version, according to recent rumors. What is important about this release is the fact that it would feature less memory than the existing version. The exact reason behind this decision is unclear, but the important detail is that NVIDIA is said to be discontinuing its 3050 8GB model, expecting board partners to switch to 6GB version entirely.

The said RTX 3050 6GB model is now expected to cost less than 8GB. According to Benchlife media who are in close contact with many Taiwanese NVIDIA board partners, the GPU vendor is planning to introduce $179 to $189 price for this model. Moreover, rumors about a potential new RTX 40 card are being discussed. Here, one should note that NVIDIA did not launch RTX 4050 for its desktop lineup.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB is expected to be released in January 2024. However, the selling price of the GeForce RTX 3050 6GB may range from $179 to $189. As a result, there are speculations suggesting that NVIDIA might introduce a new graphics card in the GeForce RTX 40 series, positioned between the GeForce RTX 3050 6GB and the GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, catering to consumers in different price ranges.

The current price of RTX 3050 8GB is around $200-$220, however this price point is currently very competitive, especially with AMD Radeon RX 6600 series and Intel’s Arc A750 models. It is unclear why NVIDIA would choose to release a new model with 6GB memory rather than compete with the existing 8GB variant at a lower price.

The rumored specs for this rumored version of RTX 3050 suggest it may feature a GA107-325 GPU with 2048 CUDA cores. The 6GB memory would be attached to 96-bit memory bus, and it may feature a much lower TGP of 70W. Earlier reports suggested that it should launch in January 2024, and those rumors are confirmed by Benchlife.
