January will be busy with NVIDIA RTX 40 SUPER launches

Launch dates for three desktop RTX 40 cards have been confirmed.

NVIDIA has seven different embargoes set for RTX 40 SUPER cards, starting with January 8 announcement and unboxing embargoes. As reported earlier, NVIDIA is set to introduce three new cards on the same day during the ‘Special Address’ at CES 2024. The company will unveil RTX 4070 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4080 SUPER cards.

NVIDIA has set new embargo dates, including separate dates for unboxing and reviews. It appears that NVIDIA will once again divide the review embargo into MSRP and non-MSRP cards, with the former receiving priority. The most important thing to know is that RTX 40 SUPER will have 7 embargoes, which are as follows:

  • January 8 (9AM PT): RTX 4070/4070Ti/4080 SUPER announcement
  • January 8 (2PM PT): RTX 4070 SUPER unboxing
  • January 16 (6AM PT): RTX 4070 SUPER MSRP Reviews
  • January 17 (6AM PT): RTX 4070 SUPER non-MSRP Reviews & Product Launch (On-shelf)
  • January 23 (6AM PT): RTX 4070 Ti SUPER MSRP Reviews
  • January 24 (6AM PT): RTX 4070 Ti SUPER non-MSRP Reviews & Product Launch (On-shelf)
  • January 30 (6AM PT): RTX 4080 SUPER MSRP Reviews
  • January 31 (6AM PT): RTX 4080 SUPER non-MSRP Reviews & Product Launch (On-shelf)

In the upcoming weeks, NVIDIA enthusiasts, reviewers, and board partners should expect a lot of activity as the company gears up to unveil a series of new cards nearly every week. The comprehensive embargo list provided below confirms the SKU names that have been circulating in rumors, indicating that NVIDIA is indeed moving forward with the Ti SUPER variant.

What this list doesn’t say, however, is that there are other models planned, including RTX 4090D for China and RTX 3060 6GB. The former is also expected to hit the shelves in January, but it has a separate embargo, which has not yet been confirmed. The RTX 3060 6GB, on the other hand, is a Q1 product with exact timing yet to be confirmed, but the important detail is that NVIDIA has five different cards coming in the coming weeks.
