Intel Core i5-14600K in Geekbench tests

Roughly two weeks away from the official launch of Raptor Lake Refresh, reviewers, retailers, overclockers, and everyone under embargo are actively testing the new CPU series. This is evident from the increased number of leaked benchmarks. The most recent update covers the Core i5-14600K CPU, which has appeared with both stock and overclocking settings, providing us with some insights into the potential of the next series.

The upcoming Core i5-14600K and its KF variant, which lacks an integrated GPU, are 14-core CPUs featuring a layout of 6 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores. Unlike the 14700K, this CPU will not see an increase in core count over its predecessor. Instead, users should expect a higher maximum frequency out of the box, reaching up to 5.3 GHz, as per official data.

Recently, the CPU was tested on the Gigabyte Z790 AORUS Master X motherboard and the ASUS Z790 TUF PLUS series. The latter system is equipped with 32GB DDR5-5200 memory and appears to be running at stock settings, with clocks not exceeding 5.3 GHz. On the other hand, the AORUS platform is using 48GB DDR5-7600 memory, with clock speeds ranging from 5.3 to 5.7 GHz, indicating that some form of overclocking was applied.

At stock settings, the CPU scores 2819/2779, and in multi-core tests, it records 16666/16707 points. When in ‘OC’ (overclocked) mode, the scores increase to 2861 and 17974 points, respectively. This represents a minor increase in single-core performance and approximately an 8% improvement in multi-threaded performance.

Since the latter score is using the same system as in the Core i7-14700KF leak, we can now conclude that Core i7 CPU will be at least 8% and 18% faster respectively than the Core i5 SKU. That’s, of course, assuming both scores were using OC settings.

Intel is now expected to announce its new CPU series on October 16th. All of the six upcoming processors are currently being tested by reviewers, so this may not be the last leak featuring this platform. Nevertheless, nearly all of the 14th Gen Core CPUs have already been spotted during some testing on Geekbench.
