New Mini PCs with Ryzen 8040 & Core Ultra 100 series

Geekom is preparing three new products for showcase at CES 2024.

Geekom is set to launch three new small form factor systems equipped with Intel’s and AMD’s latest CPU series. The Core Ultra 7 155H will be added to IT14 Pro system which is a Mini-PC in a 0.7 liter chassis featuring Intel 4nm CPU with 16 cores and 22 threads. Compared to Geekom’s previous generation system, it will deliver 20% higher performance in multi-core workloads, claims the company.

Furthermore, it will feature brand-new Arc graphics, which is to deliver up to 90% higher performance compared to Xe Iris graphics based on previous architecture. To add to that, the Meteor Lake silicon also comes with dedicated NPU unit to accelerate AI workloads. Those are the most important changes coming to Geekom’s Intel lineup, but there is more coming to the AMD portfolio.

The A8 Max and APro8 Max are both powered by AMD Ryzen 8040 “Hawk Point” CPU series with Zen4/RDNA3 architectures. Those chips were announced this month and are expected to launch as soon as Q1 2024, meaning that the AMD product shown by Geekom are not expected to launch as soon as Intel-based systems.

In terms of specs, the A8 Max will feature either Ryzen 7 8840HS or Ryzen 9 8940HS, both feature 8 Zen4 cores and Radeon 780M graphics. Worth noting that some PR materials mention Ryzen 9 8940H, which might be another China-exclusive SKU; however, it was not officially announced by AMD yet. Similarly to the last-gen Ryzen 7040 series, these chips will also feature integrated AI acceleration hardware. The 60% speed increase for the XDNA NPU unit is among the most significant updates for Hawk Point series.

More importantly, the APro8 Max will feature discrete Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics, which are said to offer similar performance to laptop GeForce RTX 4060 according to the company. This is a mid-range SKU with Navi 33 GPU featuring 2048 Stream Processors and 8GB GDDR6 memory across 128-bit bus.
